Whats a good upgrade from a 2008 Kawasaki ER6F/NINJA 650R?

It seems like you prefer japaneses sport bikes. Within this realm I highly recomend the Ninja 1000 and the Ninja ZX10r; you can't go wrong with a Kawasaki Ninja. Since you already have a Ninja, however, you may be looking for something new. The Honda CBR 1000rr might be a snazzy upgrade, but personally I don't think there is much difference between the Ninja series and the CBR series. The susuki gsx-750r may be a nice alternative.

Perhaps you may want to expand your horizons and look at some non-japanese sport/supersport-bikes. My preference is BMW but I also really like how Erik Buell Racing (EBR) is coming along. Ducatti is another classic option. Within these spheres I would say you can't go wrong with a BMW HP4, this bike is on another level. My next favorite bike from here would be the EBR 1190rx. Ducatti's 899 and 1199 Panigales are great, as is the BMW s1000rr. A more unorthodox option may be the Aprilla RSV4.

Before you buy I certainly recomend test riding if possible.

The options I mentioned may be a bit pricy (around 15k). If you are looking for a more powerful bike for a reasoneable cost I recommend staying with Kawasaki.

It really depends on what you're looking for. It sounds like you're looking at big standards/naked bikes. I've been shopping that market too. If I can find one, I'm leaning toward a 919 Hornet, but for some reason, there seems to be a lot of Yamaha FZ1s in my area. There is also an '05 Bandit 1200 for $3,000 about an hour away from me. They all have different characters. Some are more sporty, others are more touring oriented. None are exactly an "upgrade" from your current bike, since it's an outstanding machine, but if you want more power and still want the same upright riding position, any of those larger standards seem like they're worth looking into.

what about this bike? I've got one. it's affordable, light, easy to ride and it has a powerful engine.

Yamaha mt 09. more power than the kawasaki and lighter than all the other litre bikes you have listed there. go on and have a few test ride and you will see why it is a great bike!!!

There is no "upgrade" -- you are looking for an upsize.

Since all you want is more power and speed, just get the fastest bike you can find.

Harley-Davidson is an upgrade to all other motorcycles.

Can you say Hayabusa?
