Miles apart in their class class the basic Golf is a fine little hatch for getting the groceries. The Focus ST3 is more of a "Hot Hatch" and more sporting in this trim. Now if you had put the Volkswagen GTI or the Golf-R up against the Ford I would have a different opinion.
