Do you look in your side mirrors if you always check your blindspot and rearview mirror when changing lanes?

yes. it's just natural for me. I mainly use my side mirrors to look for cops because our driving speed is slow here when it can be raised and still be safe. the only time i really don't check my mirrors is if im going and changing lanes and i know theirs no one in that lane that i will hit otherwise i will look. people here drive slow but when they see you signaling to change lanes they will literally speed up to block you like a douche bag. almost hit a few people when i first got my license because people do this so often they are FAR behind as well.

better safe then sorry.

There's a term called "Situational Awareness". That means you MUST be aware of your surroundings and what is going on around you at ALL times. Doesn't matter if you plan on changing lanes or not, making a turn or not. Check your mirrors, turn your head - it does swivel. When a car enters your blind spot, being aware of your surroundings at all times you'll probably see that car just before it enters your blind spot. Now you know the car is there even if you can't see it.

No, you have a quick look behind too, by turning your head.

yes you should , drive smart, drive safe....
