Kweg Co Chains, Getting Back On track...the BMX Track!
From Kyle Gress/Kweg Co Chains ..... As many people know Kweg Co Chains was started in 2009 around the Grand Nationals in Tulsa OK. The company was doing great! it was recognized world wide and within the first few weeks we were sold out. Sadly Brian Gress, my Father and the founder of Kweg Co. passed away attending the 2011 Grand Nationals. so basically the company started and ended at the Grands.

It was tough for my being 16 years old and witnessing something so tragic happen to my hero, my mentor, my best friend, my Dad. I tried my best to keep the company going for as long as I could, racing at the time I was so busy with training, traveling, school, running a company, and all while still trying to be a teenager. it was so overwhelming at the time I decided to put the company up for sale. while being successful in finding buyers I had some people jerk me around. and others offer crazy amounts that were hard to resist, but for some reason I just could not go through with it.

Attending the first Reno national of 2014 it was the first race I had been to in a while, I was so bombarded with people asking when I would be coming back and giving them the products they love so much. Prior to the national I started a little side project called iNDiE BICYCLES,  just so I could still be a part of the company scene. but bringing back Kweg Co was brought up by so many people it brought that issue to attention.

The racers wanted us back and that's all there was to it. So I am so very proud to announce that Kweg Co is back! All because of the people who demanded it and bugged me enough. I am doing it for those reasons, and because of my Dad, I know this is what he would want and I know if he were here he would be proud that I am backing a product I strongly believe in.

Currently in stock are our most popular models the half link hollow pin in gold and silver. Also we have our shirts and hats in stock! that's for the Kweg Co Side.

As for the iNDiE side we have all seat clamps QR and Standard in 31.8

We are also looking to add a few riders to our Factory Kweg Co / iNDiE team. Not only that but we are looking to build our grass roots team, so let's talk about the possibilities!

Liam Phillips gets British crowd on their feet in Manchester

Women's Time Trial Superfinal win for Laura Smulders

Friday BMX Mania Photo Gallery Coming Today!

MANCHESTER, England 18 April 2014 from UCI Media Services - England’s Liam Phillips uses home advantage for the first UCI SX World Cup Time Trial win of the season in front of loud fans in the National Cycling Centre. Although not a personal record, the sub 29 second time was needed to get Latvian Edzus Treimanis out of the hot seat. Treimanis set a time of 29.253 early in the final which was beat by the popular Phillips with one more rider to go: Time Trial World Champion Connor Fields (USA). With all eyes on the big screen the relief was big when the American set the second fastest time leaving Phillips the winner of the evening.

When asked if he expected to win on his home SX track Liam answered, “You can never expect to win, it’s BMX isn’t it? It was difficult doing practice and then go for a full lap 5 hours later on this challenging track. It’s difficult to ride because it’s so fast. The jumps are big but you’re just hauling so it’s hard to put a good lap together.” Liam is ready for tomorrow’s World Cup race, “I’ve done the work I needed to do in order to be competitive so I need a few good starts and a few good laps and we’ll see what happens.” Edzus Treimanis completed the top three of the first Time Trials final of 2014.

Also the women enjoyed racing in the amazing facility. The girls rode impressive and the big jumps were a challenge for most. American Brooke Crain conquered the hot seat early on in the finals but it was Olympic bronze medalist Laura Smulders who set the fastest time of the night after a long winter of hard training. “I was out most of last summer with a knee injury and couldn’t wait to be back on the bike again. I felt strong the last few weeks but you never know how hard the competition has trained during the winter months.” The Dutch National team rider added, “With this win I get to pick the starting position on the gate for tomorrow’s races which is an advantage.” French Champion Manon Valentino scored third place.

The permanent indoor BMX Supercross track at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester is one of a kind with all facilities available to hold a great World Cup race. 64 men and 32 women have qualified to go head to head on the track tomorrow evening.

Kiwi Nick Says Goodbye NZ Hello USA!
New Zealand Elite, Nick Fox is stoked to let you all know his plans for 2014! After an insane six months in the USA last year, Nick says, "I knew it was the place to be for BMX and to progress to the next level. I began planning as soon as I got home and everything has finally fallen in to place."

At the start of December last year Nick began working with Paul Caldwell who is based out of Texas and is the owner of the Compound Gym. Nick then started planning out the year, researching if it was even possible and what visas were needed to apply for to make this happen. Nick applied for a eight month visa from March 17th to December 2nd and was successful in the interview and the visa was confirmed.

For Nick, this means that on March 17th he will be going to Mansfield, Texas to stay with Paul and train at the compound and will travel to all the USABMX pro rounds and race AA pro this year until the USABMX Grands in Tulsa. Nick is stoked to making the jump to the states and "can't wait to take on this opportunity of a lifetime and begin to make my dreams a reality!"

Check out his Winter 2014 Nick Fox Video, it's AWESOME, loads of skill, a new motivation and unlimited BMX horizons await.....Dream Young Man, Dream!

USA Cycling BMX DEVELOPMENT CAMP at Olympic Training Center!

BMX DEVELOPMENT CAMP [2014 BMX Development Camp #1] - The first BMX Program Development Camp of 2014 was held May 30-April 6 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

Camp standouts were Ryan Pettigrew (Watsonville, Calif.), Bubba Gonzales, BJ Ensey (Bella Vista, Calif.) and Kelsey Van Ogle (Auburn, Wash.), who set a new fastest time for the girls development track.

"Overall, a great camp with a talented group of riders," said camp head coach Arielle Martin-Verhaaren. "The talent keeps getting younger and better with each camp I've taught. I am looking forward to bringing some of these kids back for future camps to help them develop and make that transition to Supercross racing."

"I'm incredibly happy with the direction our devo program is headed under the leadership of Arielle Martin and Jonas Harmon," added USA Cycling Director of BMX, Jamie Staff. "I'd like to see the size, funding, and sponsorship partnerships of our program grow over the coming years, increasing the opportunities for young BMX athletes."

USA Cycling National BMX Coach, James Herrera echoed those comments. "It's always great to see our emerging talent," he said. "I'm truly encouraged about the future of our U.S. BMX program."

And, this from a satisfied parent.....“I wanted to thank you again so much for inviting Austin back to the devo camp 1. The training program you all run is top notch! Austin returns from your camps each time even more motivated, determined and committed to BMX SX. I think it’s great! Thank you again for believing in him!”- Linda Ivanoff, BMX Parent.

USA Cycling would like to thank Chase Bicycles chasebicycles.com & Tioga tiogausa.com/bmx for their continued support in the Development of our junior riders.

Ride like a girl, girl shoot out

Elite Women's rider, Carley Young is heading up a great Girl's Only BMX Series at Oldsmar BMX, check it out and if you're within "racing distance" and have girls under your control, hit it up!

From Race Organizer, Carley Young.....The biggest thing I get complaints from parents is their girls are not ready for nationals and a gate of 8 because their local program is to small. I want to do a shoot out for the girls every 2nd Saturday of the month at Oldsmar Bmx. This series has 6 races, 5 qualifiers one final.

There is no age limit on this shoot out but you must have 8 Amateur girls to race. $15 entry fee, First 3 paid every qualifier and top 8 get paid for overall final in points on September 20th. Special end of the series awards and we are going to try and do a holeshot award for the final.

We are going to treat these girls like pros, scrambled motos, lane selection, pro introduction style for the main event the whole royal treatment.

I want riders to be pumped on local racing and I want girls to wanna train for something on a local level.

The schedule may change due to the constitution of the new track being built but the amount of races well not change.
