DOUBLECROSS BMX TO LAUNCH AUSTRALIAN FACTORY TEAM EFFORT!

Doublecross Bikes and BMX Edge would like to announce that as of January 2013 the new Factory Doublecross Australia Team will be up and running.

Brett Williams from BMX Edge: I am very excited about Doublecross Bikes and BMX Edge working together, I feel 2013 is going to be an exciting year for both Doublecross and BMX Edge in Australia.

BOX Components Signs Four-Year Deal With Dutch Team

ANAHEIM CA—Cycle Group, Inc. (CGI) is pleased to announce that BOX Components will be the official component supplier to the Dutch National BMX Race Team through the end of 2016.

The powerful team is packed with some of the best up-and-coming talent on the international BMX scene. “The Dutch national team is one of the most professional and best organized national teams in the world. Not to mention they have some of the fastest riders around.

"We are really excited to be working with them and team director Bas de Bever,” said Toby Henderson, founder and executive director of CGI, BOX’s parent company. Henderson worked with de Bever previously when he owned VSI.

“Working with Bas and the team will push us to continue developing the best BMX components in the world. We’re confident they will provide us with top-notch feedback and technological advice. And, we think BOX components like the Maximus bars and Delta stem, Vertex cranks and 20-mil Hollow hubs will give them advantages while racing,” Henderson added.

Among the notable riders on the team are Olympic bronze medalist Laura Smulders, Olympic finalists Raymon van der Biezen, Twan van Gendt, Jelle van Gorkom and Merle van Benthem.

“I know Toby from working with him before, and I know he is striving to develop the best BMX components out there. As a High performance BMX team we want to develop our athletes to be at their physical best, but also want our bikes to be build with the best components available. With BOX and Promax we have found a partner who can provide us with the best, since the development of their products is going to be based on our riders’ feedback. We are confident that these products are going to help us achieve our goals,” said Bas de Bever.

CGI will supply the team with a range of BOX components such as handlebars and stems, brake sets, cranksets, rims, number plates, one-piece saddles/seatposts, bottom brackets and seatclamps, as well as a variety of Promax components, including headsets and seatposts.

The team will ride Meybo frames. Meybo also is the distributor of BOX and Promax components in The Netherlands.

Dani George & Jeremy Rommel "Little Guy/girl Contest"

Well we have an interesting situation here, and Dani and Jeremy want to help out a few little guys or girls that are in need of a new ride. Their sponsor, Supercross BMX recently had a distributor send back a couple 2012 ENVY Mini Frames because someone had ordered a Mini, built it up and realized they needed a Junior. So they swapped them out for new Juniors, and sent back the Mini’s for credit.

The Frames have been built, and maybe ridden around the parking lot a couple of times, but other than that they are new and ready to race.

Dutch Team Picks Up New Frame Sponsor!

Rumor has it that well known Dutch BMX frame brand, MeyBo BMX has nailed down sponsorship of the powerful Dutch National BMX Team.

The word on the street is that MeyBo has signed Team Netherlands Coach, Bas De Bever and his powerful Dutch National Team to a contract for frame sponsorship thru the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Meybo most recently provided frames for the German Olympic Team that sent Maik Baier and Luis Brethauer to do battle at The London Games with the rig pictured below, so Meybo is no stranger to Big Time BMX frame sponsorship.

The deal will mean the end of a long term relationship with Redline BMX who have been the Dutch Team's frame sponsor for a LONGGGGG time.

It'll be a different look and feel from the super fast Dutch riders, but you can bet that they'll make those Meybo's go FASSSSST!

Search & Restore is not just a show for automotive enthusiasts, but a great show that dad can watch with his family - there is a story and best of all NO DRAMA.

Tim Strange, award-winning rod builder, BMXer and owner of Strange Motion is the host and Lead Builder of Search and Restore. “The show is a feel-good, give back type of show,” said Strange. “We build projects for deserving people with touching or hard-luck stories. Each project we build gets four half-hour shows. We build four projects each season so there will be 16 episodes.” “There’s no better feeling than helping someone regain that sense of hope after they feel like they’ve lost everything,” Strange said. “Thanks to our volunteer build teams and the hosts of the other PowerBlock shows, we’re able to help someone pick up the pieces, turn a dream into a reality and have fun doing it.”

November 17, 2012 @ 8 AM CST SPIKE TV will run the third build of season two of Search and Restore. It will run as a two hour special, you will see the beginning and end of the build. On Sunday November 18, 2012 @ 8 AM SPIKE TV will do a rerun of Saturday’s show.

The third build of the season, we travel just outside Detroit, Michigan to rescue a dream, grant a daughter’s wish, and to restore some pride in a PowerBlock viewer who spends these days managing his pain, and taking care of his elderly parents. After receiving nearly 200,000 submissions from viewers, Search and Restore is PowerBlock's answer to ignite hope back into the lives of those in need of a helping hand. Search and Restore is not a “How to” show, like the other PowerBlock shows.

FBN Factory team makes Final

preparations for Tulsa

Well it’s that time of year again, isn’t it? Time for the pilgrimage of thousands of BMX riders and family members to the season’s ultimate destination…Tulsa Oklahoma! FBN riders have done their homework all season long and look to score big at the 2013 USA BMX Grand Nationals. Here is a run down of where team riders stand within their individual age groups.

Tommy Board is a top the leader board (Get it? Board?) in the overall amateur cruiser chase. Subsequently he leads the 41-45 cru class, which will be the “one” to watch!

Emilly Krickler controls her own fate in the 36-40 girls cruiser class with points lead heading to Tulsa, while teammate Susie LeVan sits just behind her in the #2 slot.

Christopher White (15) & Layne Gainer (17-20) both sit in the bridesmaid seat heading into Grands in their respective cruiser classes. Chris looks to repeat, while Layne looks for his first title, both have the skill and power to get it done.

Lance McGuire lurks in the points chase, having put himself well within contention to repeat as the 28-35x champ!

Cam Mason (10X) sits in a top 10 NAG position and will compete to move up the board as the weekend progresses. His little sister, Maddy, looks to keep a top-ten # in the 7 girls class with a few spots to make up in Tulsa.

Devon Yeager looks to send some fellow riders home unhappy in the 11X & cruiser classes.

Menardo Simon looks to find a slot in the final 8 in the ultra competitive 19-27x class.

Rochelle Wooding sits in lucky #7 in both the 16 girls, and girl’s cruiser classes, with Teammate Brianna Delamare hoping to make a name for herself in the 16 girl’s 20” class in Tulsa.

SpeedTech / Ssquared Heat Up The Fall Classics

The first leg of the Fall classics was the East Coast Nationals held in Greenville, SC. With a good crew on hand the team didn’t disappoint turning in a 2nd place finish on Saturday & 1st place finish on Sunday in the ultra competitive bike shop division.

Helping the team to the great results were Charlie Biggs who perfected 8x / 8 cruiser on Saturday & picked up a 1st/ 2nd on Sunday.

Also shredding was local girl Laura Wheeler who walked away with a 1st & 2nd in 21-25 Ladies cruiser…The finishes would also propel her back to the top of the NAG points standings, where she’s been most of the year.

Making the trip up north all the way from Miami was SpeedTech’s Ace from 2012, Karrie Norberg.

Rock’n the NAG#2 on her bike she wouldn’t disappoint bringing home a pair of 2nds.

The second half of the Florida connection, Matt Moberly also made some noise in 31-35 cruiser on the weekend taking home a 2nd & 1st Other SpeedTech/SSquared Pilots making there mains were: Kit Bjerk, Quentin Crowley, Amelia Zweiner, Wesley Haggstrom, Steven Penland & Allison McKeithan.

The second stop was in Capital City of North Carolina for the Redline Cup Championships, East. With a big crew on hand the team would take home multiple Cup championships. The final Stop of the fall swing was in Orlando at the famed Disney Cup. With a small crew of riders making the trip, the team didn’t disappoint and turned in a great weekend bringing home 2 Disney Cups! Matt Moberly, Steven Pendland, Laura Wheeler & Karrie Norberg were all over the podiums and throughout the 3 day race.

Fresh into 21-25 cruiser Steven Penland would take home a win on Saturday & 2nd on Sunday.

SpeedTech Cruiser ace Matt Moberly would also take a home win on Saturday, but would end day#2 with a crash settling for a 5th. Karrie Norberg was back at her winning ways taking a pair of wins to boost herself near the top of the NAG standings heading into Grands.

In the team competition, SpeedTech ran sheets on Saturday & Sunday & would take home a 2nd on Saturday & 3rd on Sunday. The scores helped push the team closer to the 7th overall position heading into the USABMX Grands in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The DRAFT frame samples have been tested by Thomas during a while without any problem, plus we kept a frame in Taiwan for the factory to test it, using a fatigue test machine. The results were great as the frame resisted to 50,000 cycles without any cracks or damage!

We also add a change on our TOMMY GUN fork, this is the V2, using new designed dropouts with a new stamped "V" logo, without cut holes and black ED treatment. The TOMMY GUN is now stronger than ever, but still lite and thin looking (810grs).

Profile.....Proud To Be....."Made In The USA!"

When the Rad Dudes at Profile say that they're proud to be "Made In The USA" (and their home turf of Saint Petersburg, Florida), they are serious!

Some of the boys at Profile recently put their heads together and came up with a diagram of their vendors, and with 22 full and part time employees, it seems that they are a pretty awesome group of BMX loving, sons and daughters of the Red, White & Blue!

According to Profile Racing's, Gus Lanzilotta, "When you think of how much product we produce (everything is done, initially, in-house), promotions, logistics, web management, team management, (Editor's Note.....Don't forget advertising on BMX Mania!), sales, etc...on top of having to physically assemble every component that goes out of here, the total number of people handling things is minimal."

"Beyond what we do here, 'in house' we rely on a pretty large amount of outside vendors to finish our product: Anodizing (aluminum components), black-oxidizing (steel parts), painting (cranks and white components), etc... "

With that in mind, the vendors listed 'in the diagram' are all in the state of Florida (with the exception of one chromer who is out of state).

Considering Profile keeps everything local (and within the US), we actually contribute to the employment of multiple companies. Have a look!

Answer/Rennen Disney Cup Report

The end of the season is finally here and after the thousands of miles traveled by land and air Answer/Rennen has positioned itself perfectly for an end of the season title chase showdown. Coming into the event A/R was siting 11pts behind factory Intense which has held the leaders position for most of the season. Our Sister squad Answer/SSquared/TLD was not far behind us only being down 1 pt. Once the dust settled on the Disney Cup weekend. Both Answer teams leapfrogged over Intense to claim the 1/2 spots. Although our position remained unchanged, now we find ourselves only 1 pt down from Answer/SSquared who goes into the Grands with the lead. This situation is nothing new for the team, we have gone back and forth with them all season long and it is quite fitting that Grands will decide which is the best factory team in the nation.

Answer/Rennen scored 1st/3rd/2nd on the Disney cup weekend missing the cup by only a few pts, but that's ok as we have our sights set on a much bigger, very shiny cup that can be picked up Sunday night in Tulsa. Answer/Rennen has had a very successful season to date as a team we have entered 29 events scoring 22 podium spots and 13 first place finishes (6 wins in a row). When a team has this much success it is because of its riders who have been winning all season, and the following riders have put themselves in reach of National and NAG titles.

These following Answer/Rennen riders have placed themselves in contention for NAG 1 for 2012

Austin Loebe 19-27X, Austin has raced more than anyone on Answer/Rennen this season but it was all with a purpose, not only has he given us massive points on the sheets this year but we have been helping him nip away at the National AM boys title lead. After his commanding 40 rider win on Sunday of the Disney Cup. He now goes into Grands as the Points leader. Focused more than ever his future lies in his hands now. His last amateur race will be the Grands. One more race to go to get that NAG title that has eluded him for quite some time.

Shawn Diprete 41-45Cru, Shawn is no stranger to winning cruiser races or winning the grands for that matter the 3 time NAG cruiser champion now finally has rider count and destiny on his side as he is in contention for the National Am Cruiser Cup. This will be one of the most exciting races of the night as he has six other fellow 41-45crusier riders in contention.

Cam Moore 14X, Cam narrowly has positioned himself in contention to defend his NAG 1 title being 77pts down from #1. This gives him a three points of breather room and its all he needs to go defend his title. Cam knows the pressure of Grands well as he is a 3 time NAG 1 champion looking to add another title to his collection.

Zach Von Bergen 11X, Zach has put himself into NAG 1 title contention also after a dominating performance at the Disney Cup ( A race he has never lost BTW, ever!). His carefree, always wanting to ramp it attitude will suit him well as he lines up against the country's best in 11X.

21-25 Cruiser Battle Royale, 2013 new rider pickups T2S Niles Austin and Jeremy Knapper will be battling it out for this title. Look for Jeremy to be modeling the New 2013 Answer/Rennen Race kit provided by FLY/Crit.

Jaime Mchenry 10G, T2S rider Jaime is a 2013 new rider pickup for A/R and being in contention on both bikes is a great way to get yourself on a factory squad we're pulling for her to bring home the skinny digits for her current sponsor Time2Shine

Bailey Brannen 11G/11-12G Cruiser, Bailey has been in full attack mode this year looking to capture her first NAG title, we are pretty confident she'll walk away with two titles, one in class and one in cruiser.

Abbie Macleod 13G, Abbie is is one of the hardest working kids on Answer/Rennen and she has put herself in contention to win the 13G NAG title with an excellent support system behind her there's no doubt shes ready to claim that #1 spot in 13 Girls.
