My 05 Grand Cherokee interior lights will often flicker. I also stall every now and then.?

Sometimes when I am driving at night I will notice that my dash and radio lights flicker. It has been doing this for a couple months now but is not consistent every night. If i dim the lights the problem still occurs. Also I notice that if I am driving a lot and start and turn off the truck several times throughout the day it will sometimes stall the first time I turn it over, then start up normally the next time. What could be the issue? As far as the light problem I have seen sites that say the multi-function switch is bad, and I've seen the it could be the ignition switch. Might be worth noting that I do have a check engine light that reads that there may be a problem with the catalytic converter or o2 censor or exhaust leak.

Worked on a PT Cruiser with the same symptom for the dash and radio lights flickering and it was the multifunction switch. Is it setting the P0420 DTC? Most of the time that ends up being a clogged converter. I've seen quite a few times where people change the O2 sensors first because it's cheaper and ends up being the converter after all.

Yes the O2 sensors and a bad catalytic convertor will cause hesitation. If it is running and the lights are flickering then yes it is likely a switch or ground issue. It is not a battery issue.

If only the dimmable dash lights flicker, then the dimmer switch is going bad. As to the stalling, a bad O2 sensor could cause that.

check into a new battery..
